Meet Myles McMillan from THE COLOR PURPLE

Myles McMillan, a theater/acting student at UNC Greensboro, is making his HCT debut in the ensemble cast of THE COLOR PURPLE as Grady, Bartender, and Young Harpo.  Originally from Maryland, he moved to the area when his father retired from the military, after having lived in Guam and England.  He currently lives in High Point.  McMillan’s theater roles include Adam in THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE at Guilford Technical Community College and Max Halliday in DIAL M FOR MURDER at the Green Room Community Theatre.

“My favorite thing about HCT is that I adore the extravagant atmosphere that it is able to create.  I chose THE COLOR PURPLE because this show does a phenomenal job at portraying realistic stories of Black men and women during the 1900s.”  About his roles, McMillan says, “I like the versatility in the multiple roles I have.”

McMillan’s hobbies include theology, visual art (especially oil painting) and reading plays.

Performances of THE COLOR PURPLE will be held on Fridays and Saturdays, January 28 through February 5, 2022, at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, January 30, 2022, at 2:30 p.m., and Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $16 for adults and $10 for youth and students.
